As the climate crisis continues to worsen, it has never been more important for brands to become more sustainable. With the fashion industry already taking strides to improve its carbon footprint, it is now time for the world of interiors to look at how their products can be more eco-friendly.
Introducing PT Eco, marking a new Chapter in the world of responsibly sourced fabrics.
Combining both recycled polyester and organic cotton, our two new PT Eco collections have been designed with the environment in mind. The materials reduce waste and limit the need for harmful chemicals, improving the quality of the soil we walk on, the air we breathe and the water we drink.
The two new collections; Harlow and Coastal Retreat both offer the same trend-led and colour confident designs that you would expect from a Prestigious Textiles collection.
Introducing Harlow, a vibrant collection of hand-painted florals, Jacobeans and damasks.
The collection combines upbeat design with sustainability and has been inspired by English botanical gardens. The debut collection from PT Eco has been designed with the environment in mind. Combining both recycled polyester and sustainably grown organic cotton, Harlow’s prints, weaves and embroideries reduce landfill waste and the need for harmful chemicals.
What makes PT Eco Friendly?
Recycled Polyester
Manufactured entirely from plastic bottles, the aim of recycled polyester is to reduce, reuse and recycle. Choosing sustainable fabrics from the PT Eco range contributes to a greener way of living and helps to care for our planet.
Starting their lives as plastic bottles, our PT Eco fabrics help reduce harmful waste. Just one pound of recycled polyester fibres saves 10 plastic bottles from landfill, which other wise would take 450 years to decompose.
What are the benefits?
Recycling 1 ton of recyclable plastic containers saves 5.7 square metres of landfill space.
The process of making recycled polyester uses 90% less water than standard polyester.
Recycled polyester requires 70% less energy than virgin fibre production.
1kg of recycled plastic can keep 60 water bottles out of landfill.
51 billion plastic bottles go into landfill annually worldwide.
Organic Cotton
Cotton is a renewable natural resource, but the future of cotton production is vulnerable to poor environmental management and working conditions. Choosing PT Eco offers the assurance that the Organic Cotton production is certified to meet organic agricultural standards.
Organic Cotton production helps sustain the health of soils, ecosystems, and people by using natural processes rather than artificial inputs. Importantly, organic cotton farming does not allow the use of toxic chemicals. Instead, it combines tradition, innovation, and science to benefit the shared environment and promote a good quality of life for all involved.
What are the benefits?
No chemicals are used in the growing of organic cotton to help reduce our environmental footprint.
The process uses 91% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton.
80% of organic cotton is rain-fed, helping to reduce the pressure on local water sources.
When choosing organic cotton, you are investing in water conservation, cleaner air better soil and farmer livelihoods.
Its production keeps farmers and their families safe as they are not exposed to toxic chemicals.
